Do we need stickers always ??

WHATSAPP entered just as a normal app in our lives and has now gradually became a part of our daily activities – for being in contact with loved ones, group travel plans, location sharing and ofcourse, strange though, invitations, wishes are also being replaced by a simple whatsapp message !!

Well, we can’t say technology is wrong , but it’s all dependent on how people use it for !! Final Question is whether you are improving inter-personal communications or getting isolated using the modern apps.

Being active in social media websites doesn’t make you SOCIAL 🙂

Recently while I was going through whatsapp messages in a group,I read a beautiful message which I thought must be shared to everyone here. Below is the verbatim.

A car in front of me was moving like a turtle and not giving me way in spite of my continuous honking.I was on the brink of losing my cool when I noticed the small sticker on the car’s rear.

“Physically challenged; please be patient.”

And that changed everything!! I immediately went calm & slowed down. In fact I got a little protective of the car & the driver!!! I reached work a few minutes late, but it was okay. And then it struck me. Would I have been patient if there was no sticker? Why do we need stickers to be patient with people!?

Would we be more patient & kind with others if people had labels pasted on their foreheads?

Labels like —

“Lost my job”
“Fighting cancer”
“Going through a bad divorce”
“Suffering Emotional abuse”
“Lost a loved one”
“Feeling worthless”
“Financially broken”….. And more like these…

Do we need sticker for the invisible ones?

Everyone is fighting a hard battle we know nothing about. The least we can do is be patient & kind! Let us respect the invisible labels!!

Isn’t it a amazing note? Isn’t reminding your past incidents of losing temper easily?

Deepavali: 5 short stories behind it

Diwali, or Deepavali gets its name from the row(avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. It is the darkest night of the Kartika month(Amaavasya) of Hindu calendar. This year Diwali is being celebrated on November 7.

Though the significance of Diwali is same all over the country, it’s interesting to know how people of different regions in India interpret the story behind it.In all interpretations, one common thread rings true—the festival marks the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance.

STORIES OF DIWALI:

1) Southern India:

Celebrates it as the day that Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura.

Larwa Men’s Beige Free Size Dhoti Special for Diwali below Rs.800/- in Amazon

  • Narakasura was son of Lord Vishnu and Earth who turned evil, ill treating innocent people, saints and women. He was blessed to be killed only by his mother.
  • Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Krishna and Earth as Satyabhama, Krishna’s wife. They started war against Narkasura and killed Mura, Narkasura’s Army General. That is why Krishna is also called Murari. When the battle got intensified, whole world was scared as there were heavy storms and thunders coming out from battle field every now and then when Krishna’s and Narakasura’s weapons were striking together.

xshri_krishna_slaying_narakasura.jpg.pagespeed.ic.ifD1u1uosv

  • Finally Krishna fainted when the demon hurt him by his trident.HOWEVER, it was a divine plan as Narakasura was destined to be killed only by his mother. Satyabhama became very angry seeing her husband fainted in battle field and took the charge. She doubled the attack and finally killed Narakasur. The people were overjoyed and welcomed Krishna back with colourful lamps in their hands. Since then we celebrate Deepavali.

2) Northern India:

Celebrates it as the day that Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after he defeated  demon king Ravana.

  • On this day Lord Rama, along with his consort Sita and loyal brother Lakshman returned to his hometown Ayodhya after 14 long years of exile in the forest. He had just finished battling and overcoming the fierce demon king of Ceylon, Ravana, who had abducted Sita. In this battle he was ably helped by Lord Hanuman and his army of courageous monkeys.
  • The people of Ayodhya lit lamps in every home to welcome their true King as well as celebrate his victory over Ravana and also the safe return of their Queen Sita. They danced and made merry and lit firecrackers to express their joy over his return. And as a mark of respect and worship, the festivities continue every year till today. Read more at Rama and Sita: The Story of Diwali

3) Eastern India:

Marks it as the day that Lord Vishnu sent the demon King Bali to rule the nether world (Bottom world or Paathalalokam). Some Hindus of eastern India associate the festival with the goddess Durga, or her fierce avatar Kali (Shaktism), who symbolises the victory of good over evil.g

  • According to the Bhagavata Purana (the most sacred Hindu text), it was on a Kartik day that Lord Vishnu, took on the form of a dwarf (Vaman-avtaara) and defeated King Bali.
  • Bali, or rather King Mahabali, was a powerful demon king who ruled the earth. Once Bali got a boon from Lord Brahma that made him unconquerable. Even gods failed to defeat him in battles. Though he was a wise and kind king, Mahabali was cruel to the Devas (gods). Finding no way to defeat Bali, the Devas went to Lord Vishnu and insisted him to find a way to stop Bali.vamana21

4) Worship of Goddess Lakshmi:

According to Hindu puranas, on this Diwali day, the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi rose up from the ocean. The Hindu scriptures tell us that long long ago both Devas (gods) and Asuras (demons) were mortal. They had to die sometime or other, like us. But they wanted to live forever. So they churned the ocean to seek Amrita, the nectar of 71gFcPHCWzL._SX355_immortality (an event mentioned in the Hindu scriptures as “Samudra-manthan” or “Ksheera Sagara madhanam”), during which many divine objects came up. Prime among these was Goddess Lakshmi, the daughter of the king of the milky ocean, who arose on the new moon day (amaavasyaa) of the Kartik month. That very night, Lord Vishnu married her. Brilliant lamps were illuminated and placed in rows to mark this holy occassion. This event is supposed to have given rise to an annual celebration at the same time each year. Even today, Hindus celebrate the birth of the goddess Lakshmi and her marriage to Lord Vishnu on Diwali and seek her blessings.

5) Return of Pandavas:

According to Hindu epic Mahabharata, the five royal brothers, Pandavas, suffered a defeat in the hands of their brothers, the Kauravas, in a game of dice (gambling). As a rule imposed on them, the Pandavas had to serve a term of 13 years in exile. When the period was over, they returned to their birthplace Hastinapura on ‘Kartik Amavashya’ download(the new moon/no moon day of the Kartik month). The five Pandava brothers, their mother and their wife Draupadi were honest, kind, gentle and caring in their ways and were loved by all their subjects. To celebrate the joyous occassion of their return to Hastinapura and to welcome back the Pandavas, the common people illuminated their state by lighting bright earthen lamps everywhere. The tradition is believed to have been kept alive through the festival of Diwali, which many believe, is held in remembrance of the Pandava brothers’ homecoming.

Non-Hindu communities have other reasons for celebrating the festival:

  • In Jainism, it marks the nirvana or spiritual awakening of Lord Mahavira on October 15, 527 B.C.
  • In Sikhism, it marks the day as Bandi Chhor Divas as Guru Hargobind, the Sixth Sikh Guru was freed from imprisonment.
  • In Buddhism, Newar people of Nepal who revere various deities in the reflection of the freedom to worship any deity for their worldly betterment within Mahayana Buddhist tradition and celebrate Diwali by offering prayers to Lakshmi.

Looking for Peace..?Read this to calm yourself!!

For better or worse, our habits shape us.

Once upon a time there is a wise and successful man who bought a beautiful house with a huge orchard. But, not all were happy for him. An envious man lived in an old house next to him. He constantly tried to make his fellow neighbor’s stay in the beautiful house as miserable as possible. He threw garbage under his gate and made other nasty things.

One fine day the wise man woke up in a good mood and went into the porch to notice buckets of garbage thrown there. The man took a bucket , cleaned his porch. He carried a bucket and went to knock his envious neighbour‘s door.

The envious neighbour heard a knock at his door and gleefully thought, “ I finally got him!”. He answered his door ready to quarrel with his successful neighbour. However the wise man gave him a bucket of freshly picked apples saying, “The one who is rich in something, shares the same thing with others.”

Moral : Jealousy,Vengeance make people blind. It becomes burden and If we carry our burdens all the time sooner or later, it becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on & have to pay the price in the form of stress, anxiety issues. ”

“So, before you start a new day tomorrow, whatever burdens of envy, greed you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can and feel the difference”

Don’t let bad habits hold you back in life.

Having ‘Peace of Mind’ is not a strenuous job, it is an effortless process if you keep your mind cool and anxious free.

Here are 5 simple ways to increase your peace of mind:

1. Do your high-value,difficult task first in the morning

Spending on the most daunting task first in the morning is quite motivating in the long run. It’s tempting to start your day with easy tasks. But Don’t. Pushing a difficult task back is like holding a glass of water in an outstretched arm.

180306132257-page-top-morning-routine-large-169

At first nothing happens, but if you do it for hours or even days, you will soon feel stress free. Do the most annoying task first thing in the morning, and enjoy increased productivity and peace of mind for the rest of the day.

Low value activities, including responding to notifications, or reacting to emails keep you busy and stop you from getting real work done. Make time for work that matters.

2. Expose yourself to different world views

Be genuinely curious about other cultures, languages or how things are done differently by others.Different cultures could have a big positive effect on your own ideas. Get out of your own perception for once.

medjunarodne-selidbe

Be open to discussions that does not share same world view.Read books on topics you usually ignore.Don’t judge others views as this may affect your peace.Just embrace the differences.

The only way to get out of your own world view is to step outside your perception and embrace new knowledge.

Get fascinated by a lot of things.Allow yourself to wander.

3. Let go of things you can’t control

You make plans to go outside with friends. But at the last minute, it starts raining. What’s your reaction? Some people upset and angry, and find the nearest person and start complaining to them. “It’s not FAIR that it’s raining. This _always_ happens to me!…”

That’s not going to accomplish anything – the rain won’t stop just because you throw a tantrum. *The rain doesn’t care.* So make the best of the situation. What you can do in such situation is go for doing a chitchat with family enjoying cool climate with a snack, or just lie in bed reading a good book, listening to the rain beating on the window.

Giving yourself time to play and unwind can make an immense difference in bringing new energy into your life.

Make the most of what you do control, and don’t worry about what you don’t.

4. List 3 things you love about your situation right now

Just list or say to yourself 3 simple things about any part of your life that you love. Like “3 simple things I love about the room I’m in right now”, or “3 simple things I love about this week”, or anything else. It can also be about a silly thing that you love.

This is a form of gratitude you are showing to life & training your mind to think towards positive aspects.

This is a great technique if you’re ever bored while stuck in traffic, or waiting in the grocery store checkout lane. You can immediately transform boredom into happiness and peace of mind!

5. Selfless Service

It does little good to be at peace passively in isolation. Today, allow someone else to feel the peace you have found by being of service.

Let yourself experience the kindness, good will, and compassion you can bring to a troubled situation.Your service can be as modest as visiting the elderly or as active as joining a community outreach project.

History:

Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Temple in Vizianagaram is a 18th century temple, puranas says, the goddess pydimamba belonged to Gajapati Dynasty of Vizianagaram ,was a sister of king Vijaya Rama Raju. During the (Battle between Bobbili Rajas & Vijiayanagara Rajas) Battle of Bobbili, January 23, 1757,entire Bobbili fort got destroyed and many Bobbili soldiers died in the battle with the help of De Bussy, the then French army general. The wife of Vijaya Rama Raju and Sister Sri Pydimamba tried to stop the battle on hearing this news but were not successful.

By that time, Sri Pydimamba, sister of Vijayaramaraju was suffering from Masuchi disease. When she is conducting a pooja, she came to know that his brother is in trouble.she starts with Patiwada Appala Naidu(Soldier) in horse cart and on the way receives news that Tandra Papa Rayudu killed her brother in battle.

By knowing the news, she faints & falls ill, tells that she will not live anymore & her soul joins Mata Durga Devi after she dies. She says goddess idol will be found near pedda cheruvu in Vizianagaram & dies.

The fishermen found the idol of Pydimamba and constructed a temple called Vanam Gudi for goddess, at Vizianagaram Railway Station which was the first temple for Pydimamba, the second temple is located at three lanterns junction.

Her statue can be found at the west bank of Pedda Cheruvu (A pond located at the heart of Vizianagaram lies on the west side of Vizianagaram Fort).

It is believed that approximately 15 days before Sirimanu Utsav, goddess Pydimamba would come in the dream of temple Priest and tell him where the Sirimanu for this year is located. He tells the temple management the location of the tree. The district administration assigns the forest department to take care of the process of procuring the tree from that place. That sirimanu can be located anywhere. The owner must agree to cut his tree for Utsav.

That tree will be shaped neatly into Sirimanu and will be placed over the chariot. This sirimanu will be brought to Three Lanters junction around 2:00 pm in afternoon. Then temple Priest will make darshan of Goddess, wears new clothes given by Rajas and will sit on the Sirimanu chariot. This sirimanu will move 3 times to Vizianagaram fort and temple between 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Vizianagaram rajahs will sit on the top of the fort and watch the Utsav.

The priest of the temple, while taking procession between the fort and temple three times in the evening, hangs from the tip of the long, lean wooden stick (measuring 60 feet), raised high into the sky.

“Hanging from the upper end of the 60-ft tall Sirimanu is a risky affair, but the grace of the goddess saves priest from falling,”locals explained.

Our hair is nothing, but our body’s waste! ‘Body waste’ means something that we don’t need. Hair is actually made of both living and non-living cells.

Due to dead cells, you don’t feel any pain when your hair gets cut. And hence the whole responsibility of keeping hair strong comes onto the shoulders of living cells.

These living cells need lots of energy to work and grow. For this your hair roots and hair follicles, need carbohydrates. And you can rely on Methi as 60% of its chemical composition is made up of carbohydrates only.
